What is PrivePas?

PrivePas is the event access and guest management platform for Nigeria and Africa.

Guests are invited by WhatsApp and email, they RSVP on their own invite page, each one gets a single-use QR access pass, and security verifies them at the gate in about a second.

It is access infrastructure rather than a ticketing platform: it does not sell tickets to the public, it controls who gets through the door of an event that already has a guest list.

What it does

Common questions

Is PrivePas a ticketing platform?

No. PrivePas is access infrastructure. It does not sell tickets to the public and takes no cut of ticket sales. It runs the door of an event that already has a guest list: invitations, RSVP, a single-use QR pass per guest, and verification at the gate.

What does the name PrivePas mean?

It comes from private and pass: a private pass issued to one named guest. Each pass belongs to one person, works once, and is checked at the entrance.

Who makes PrivePas?

PrivePas is built and run by a company based in Lagos, Nigeria, and serves events in Nigeria and across Africa.

What happens at the gate when the internet goes down?

Scanning carries on. Each gate decides from the guest list it has already cached and uploads its admissions when the connection returns. The honest limit of that: two gates that are both offline can each admit the same pass, and the second admission is identified at sync, recorded with the device and the time, and shown on the event report. Detection rather than prevention, and only while offline.

Does a security team need to install an app?

No. A scanner opens a link in the phone browser, so any smartphone works and there is no limit on how many devices scan at one event.
