What Event Gate Security Actually Costs in Nigeria

Nobody in this market publishes prices, so here are ours in full, what is included, what is not, and how to work out whether it is worth it for your event.

Search for what event security software costs in Nigeria and you will find nothing useful. Every provider says contact us for a quote. That is usually a sign the price changes depending on how wealthy you sound on the phone.

So here is ours, in full, with what is included and what is not.

The prices

Up to 200 guests: ₦170,000.

201 to 500 guests: ₦340,000.

Above 500 guests: from ₦550,000, with the final figure depending on gate count and complexity.

All figures are VAT inclusive at the standard 7.5 percent rate. There is no separate VAT line added at checkout. You pay per event, not monthly, and there is nothing to cancel afterwards.

What is included in every activation

A unique QR code for every guest on your list. Personalised invitation cards generated for each one. Email delivery of those cards to every guest inbox, with no per guest charge. An RSVP page with optional approval before a guest is confirmed. Unlimited scanner access, so you can run as many gates as you need without paying per station. A live dashboard you watch from your own phone during the event. And a full post-event report covering who attended, when they arrived and how your staff performed at each gate.

Setup Assist, free. If you would rather not configure the platform yourself, our team does the whole software side for you. Guest list import, RSVP link, invitation delivery, guest approvals if you want us handling them, staff scanner creation, and preparing each scanner before event day so it keeps working if your venue loses network. Request it from your dashboard. There is no fee.

Worth stating plainly because some providers charge separately for all three: email delivery, RSVP and setup are not add-ons here. They are in the base price.

What costs extra

Invitation card design, ₦20,000. Only if you want us to design the card. If you already have a design, or your planner is providing one, you upload it and pay nothing.

An on-site team. If you want trained PrivePas staff physically running your gate rather than briefing your own people, that is quoted separately based on guest count, gate count, location and duration. Request it from your dashboard or on WhatsApp.

That is the complete list. There is nothing else that appears later.

If you run events for a living

Planners running more than one event a month should not be paying per event at the standard rate. The Starter plan is ₦20,000 a month and takes ten percent off every activation, up to five events. Growth is ₦50,000 for fifteen percent off up to fifteen events. Scale is ₦100,000 for twenty percent off unlimited events.

The break-even on Starter is two events a month. At one event you save ₦17,000 against a ₦20,000 subscription, so you lose ₦3,000 and should stay on pay per event. At two you are ahead. We would rather say that than have you subscribe in a quiet month and feel taken.

Most planners bill activation to the client as a line item anyway, which means the discount is not a saving at all. It is margin.

How to work out if it is worth it

The honest test has nothing to do with guest count. It is what a mistake at your gate would actually cost you.

Take your caterer's cost per plate and multiply it by the number of uninvited people you think might turn up. At most Lagos weddings that number is larger than the activation fee before you have added a single souvenir or chair. If your caterer charges ₦15,000 and forty extra people eat, that is ₦600,000 of food nobody budgeted for.

Then ask the harder question. What happens if the food finishes before your invited guests have eaten. That cost does not appear on any invoice and people remember it for years.

If the answer to both is genuinely nothing much, a printed list costs you nothing and you should use one. We are not going to pretend a small casual gathering needs software. But if your budget was calculated precisely for a specific headcount, or there are people in the room whose opinion of you matters commercially, the guest count is beside the point.

Why we publish this

Two reasons, and neither is generosity.

The first is that a fixed public price means you are paying the same as everyone else. Quote on request usually means the number moves depending on the venue you mentioned or the car you arrived in.

The second is practical. If ₦170,000 does not work for your event, you find that out now rather than after three messages and a phone call. Nobody's time gets wasted.
